Moving the folder-basepath of the FAUbox client

Attention:Moving the basic folder path to a network drive is not recommended! There is a risk of data loss!

  1. Start the FAUbox client.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on Preferences and select General.
  3. Click on the folder-icon next to folder-basepath.
  4.  Select the desired directory and confirm with OK. If desired, you can also create a new directory:

In the Preferences window, click OK again after selecting the desired directory.

  1. Exit the FAUbox-Client.

 

Start the FAUbox client and repeat the following procedure with each of your folders:

a. Click on the folder and then select the Preferences tab above.

b. Click the folder icon next to Local Directory.

c. Create a new folder in the new Folder Base Path, select it and click OK.

d. Now select Move and, if necessary, click Continue until the process is complete.

  1. Repeat this process with all folders.
  1. Wait until the client is completely synchronized.

  1. You can now delete the files in the old folder base path.

  1. Now all folders should be synchronized without problems. If this is not the case, restart the client once and wait until all folders have been synchronized.

  1. Start the FAUbox-Client.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on Preferences and select General.

  1. Click on the folder-icon next to folder-basepath.
  2. Select the desired directory and confirm with OK. Now click OK again in the Preferences window.
  3. The client will notify you that a restart is required. Click Restart.
  4. Exit the FAUbox-Client
  5. Start the FAUbox client and repeat the following procedure with each of your folders:
  • Click on the folder and then select the Preferences tab above.
  • Click the folder icon next to Local Directory.
  • Create a new folder in the new Folder Base Path, select it and click OK.
  • Now select Move and, if necessary, click Continue until the process is complete.
  • Repeat this procedure for all folders.
  • All folders should be synchronized without problems now. If this is not the case, restart the client once and wait until all folders have been synchronized.

  5. Click Restart, and then exit the FAUbox client after it restarts.
  6. Start the FAUbox client and repeat the following procedure for each of your folders:
  • Click on the folder and then select the Preferences tab above.
  • Click the folder icon next to Local Directory.
  • Create a new folder in the new Folder Base Path, select it and click OK.

  • Select Move and, if necessary, click Continue until the process is complete.
  • Repeat this procedure for all folders.
  • Wait until the client completely synchronizes.
  • You can now delete the files in the old folder base path.
  • All folders should be synchronized without problems now. If this is not the case, restart the client once and wait until all folders have been synchronized.
